Experts from the Center for International Cooperation and Project Implementation participated in the development of the Civil Society Position on the State Target Program for the Fair Transformation of Ukraine's Coal Regions until 2030.
This Position needs to be updated to take into account the new challenges that Ukraine has faced since 2022 when the Russians began a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
It is worth noting that the full-scale invasion led to catastrophic consequences for the Luhansk, Donetsk, and partially Dnipro regions. Active hostilities, bombing, mining, and artificial flooding of mines by the occupiers not only lead to social and financial losses in mining communities but also to catastrophic environmental impacts.
