Last week, Olena Vusyk, head of the ICPI Center, took part in a training on effective communication on the just transformation of coal communities organized by the NGO Ecodia in Chervonohrad, Lviv region.
The training was attended by representatives of the public from coal communities who work on the issues of fair transformation of coal communities.
The training took place in the mining community, where the participants had the opportunity to talk to the Mayor of Chervonohrad Mr. A. Zalivskyi and learn about the community's problems and ways to solve them.
Participation in this training provided an opportunity to study in more depth the cross-sectoral impact of coal mines on community development. The issue of closing unprofitable coal mines raises painful issues of employment of miners, provision of families, and, of course, support for the communities themselves.
We remind you that the experts of the Center for ICPI are currently implementing a project on “Research of conditions and needs for training, career guidance, re-profiling and support of youth that will contribute to the fair transformation of mining communities”, with the support of #Ecoaction.
