A Memorandum of Cooperation under the Joint Credit Mechanism was signed between Japan and Ukraine

We continue to share the results of the Japan-Ukraine Conference on Economic Development and Recovery.

During the business events and the Conference on Economic Recovery and Rehabilitation of Ukraine in Tokyo, 56 bilateral agreements and memorandums were signed at both the governmental and business levels.

One of the main and defining documents was the "Memorandum of Cooperation under the Joint Credit Mechanism (JCM) between the Government of Japan and the Government of Ukraine" signed on February 19 in Tokyo by Ito Shintaro, Minister of the Environment of Japan, and Ruslan Strilts, Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine.

This Memorandum strengthens bilateral investment cooperation in the framework of joint climate action through the Joint Credit Mechanism.

The Chairman of the Board of the Center for ICPI Vadym Sydiachenko took an active part in preparing this Memorandum for signing and justifying its urgent need for Ukraine at the present stage. In particular, we reported on our website that negotiations with the participation of V. Sidyachenko with the Japanese delegation on the terms and necessity of urgent signing of this Memorandum took place on the sidelines of the COP-28 in Dubai in early December 2023.
